Our 40th Anniversary show was performed from 24th to 27th March and was 'The Adventures
of Alice', based on 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'
by Lewis Carroll, with songs set to Victorian Music Hall tunes. It was performed
in the round, at the Grange Hall in Radcliffe on Trent and involved all Society members. We
were also delighted to be working with children from the Keyworth School of Theatre
Dance, who joined us in some colourful dance numbers, and we are grateful to Ann
Marchant for choreographing this.
The strong production team included
joint directors David and Penny Kimmins, Andy
Crookes, head of lighting at the Leicester Little Theatre, and Musical Director Bob
Harriss who has worked with us before in Anne of Green Gables, the Wizard of Oz and
Old Time Music Halls.
We hope you laughed at the antics of the Mad Hatter, wept with the White Knight and
thrilled to the roar of the fearsome Jabberwocky, which was fabulous fun for both
the young and young at heart.
