“Theft” by Eric Chappell was performed on 24th, 25th, 26th March 2011.

By local writer Eric Chappell, “Theft” is a comedy thriller that cleverly blends some humorous lines with a look at how friend and family relationships can become strained in the twinkling of an eye. The play is set in a country house and starts with two couples returning home after a night out to discover that a burglary has taken place. We watch as the two couples interact with a strange character called Spriggs who is introduced as the totally unbelievable local detective. Over the course of the play, Spriggs  undermines two seemingly happy marriages and one formerly strong friendship with his own brand of subversive observation.

Eric Chappell is a prolific writer who can be credited with many successful productions. “Theft” was first presented at the Theatre Royal, Windsor with George Cole taking the role of Spriggs.
